Wollner\u2019s third feature premiered in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/cannes\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cannes_1\" data-tag=\"cannes\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cannes<\/a> this year, winning best film in the Un Certain Regard sidebar. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe film stars Birgit Minichmayr as a mother who loses her daughter Jesse in a tragic event and then struggles to cope with her grief and her complicated relationship to her younger daughter and Jesse\u2019s boyfriend, who many blame for her death. What starts as a realistic drama becomes increasingly strange as Wollner mixes the present and the past, memories and imagination in her exploration of a family dealing with loss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cEverytime succeeds in making grief, as a state of a world that has come undone, tangible through purely cinematic means and with surprising lightness,\u201d the jury said in a statement. \u201cElegant in its play with form and narrative ellipses, Everytime tells of the spaces between the pain of loss.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEverytime will have its North American premiere in Toronto next month. Charades is handling international sales. The film has already sold to more than 30 territories, with 1-2 Special picking up domestic rights. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce the 15 films on the best international feature film shortlist on Dec. 15. The five nominees will be announced Jan. 21, 2027.
