That immediately puts pressure on one of the current standouts in the segment, BMW’s iX3.<\/p>\n

For drivers considering a move away from gas-powered luxury SUVs, the comparison matters. Range, charging speed, comfort, and real-world practicality can all shape whether an EV feels like an upgrade or a compromise.<\/p>\n

Here’s what to know<\/p>\n

A comparison<\/a> from Electrifying<\/a> (@Electrifyingcom) examined the EX60 and the BMW iX3 across range, charging, performance, practicality, interior quality, tech, comfort, and value.<\/p>\n

The matchup carries extra weight because the iX3 is the outlet’s current Car of the Year.<\/p>\n

The video caption described the Volvo this way: “The all-new Volvo EX60<\/a> is here, promising up to 503 miles of range, ultra-fast charging, clever safety technology and one of the most impressive interiors in the premium EV class.”<\/p>\n

For the vehicles tested, the BMW iX3 was listed with a WLTP range of 493 miles, 469 horsepower, and up to 400 kilowatts of charging, while the Volvo EX60 P10 AWD was listed with a WLTP range of 410 miles, 510 horsepower, and up to 370 kilowatts.<\/p>\n

Electrifying presenter Nicola Hume’s reaction to the Volvo was simple: “Bloody hell, this is a good car.”<\/p>\n

Her co-presenter, James Batchelor, suggested the result could hinge on “the finest details, the finest margins.”<\/p>\n

One commenter wrote, “Tested them both and they are both great cars. The BMW drives truly amazing for a heavy SUV. Chuck it at the corner and it will just do it and you’ll enjoy it. The Volvo on the other hand is calm, comfy and silent.”<\/p>\n

Space was part of the appeal for both models. The presenters said each one uses 800-volt charging and sits on a dedicated EV platform, which helps create flat floors and roomy second rows, making electric SUVs feel more spacious and family-friendly than similarly sized gas-powered models.<\/p>\n

Electrifying praised the BMW for efficiency, range, and a more engaging drive, while the Volvo was highlighted for its comfort, relaxed nature, cabin design, and standard equipment that Batchelor suggested feels more generous than BMW’s options list.<\/p>\n

The version used in this comparison carried a 410-mile WLTP rating, not the highest advertised figure.<\/p>\n

That difference also showed up in equipment. Batchelor said heated seats and a panoramic roof \u2014 features many shoppers expect in a premium vehicle \u2014 are extra-cost options on the BMW but standard on the Volvo, which can quickly change the value equation.<\/p>\n
