{"id":83705,"date":"2026-09-03T02:39:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T02:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/83705\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T02:39:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T02:39:09","slug":"cook-out-aldi-chipotle-and-more-coming-to-moncks-corner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/83705\/","title":{"rendered":"Cook Out, Aldi, Chipotle and more coming to Moncks Corner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MONCKS CORNER \u2014 There\u2019s a common real estate phrase that retail follows rooftops and that couldn\u2019t be truer for this Berkeley County town.<\/p>\n<p>Moncks Corner saw its population grow by 11.5 percent in the last year and along with residents moving in, there has been a steady flow of business openings this year \u2014 ranging from the 28-inch pizza spot <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/business\/retail\/benny-ernestos-pizza-moncks-corner-sc-restaurant\/article_e707f9f4-40db-4fb1-86db-0a69c7a3e856.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Benny Ernesto\u2019s<\/a> to the sushi restaurant <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/business\/retail\/rollin-local-moncks-corner-sc-sushi-restaurant\/article_c71cbbf2-f949-4ec7-b5a6-02ec2740956b.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Rollin Local<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And there\u2019s a lot more on the way. Some spots are slated to open soon while others that are still waiting to break ground.<\/p>\n<p>Community Development Director Justin Westbrook said the town has been seeing a lot of growth along Route 52, in particular \u2014 from the Foxbank Town Center near Cypress Gardens to the North end of town by Walmart.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re starting to get the second wave of investment \u2014 and that\u2019s where things really get exciting for Moncks Corner,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Cook Out<\/p>\n<p>The popular Southeastern fast\u2011food chain known for its chargrilled burgers and barbecue trays made its debut Sept. 1.<\/p>\n<p>The Moncks Corner spot is the chain\u2019s first spot in Berkeley County, located at 646 Rembert C. Highway 52, near the intersection of Highway 17A and Anglers Drive, across from\u00a0Chick-fil-A\u00a0and\u00a0Walmart.<\/p>\n<p>Plans filed with the town call for a 20,664-square-foot store on about 4.5 acres, with an additional 1,870 square feet reserved for a future expansion.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/business\/retail\/aldi-charleston-west-ashley-circle-bees-ferry\/article_4c896d2b-cfd8-453a-ac23-96049d566f59.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Aldi<\/a> has not yet announced an opening date for the latest location, but\u00a0Moncks Corner Mayor Thomas Hamilton Jr.\u00a0shared a project update on social media Aug. 10, saying construction is moving along with the roof section delivered that week.<\/p>\n<p>Known for its no-frills shopping model, discount brands and its quarter cart-rental system, the Moncks Corner location will be Aldi&#8217;s second store in Berkeley County. Highway 52 near the upcoming Aldi. A restaurant spokesperson confirmed the Charleston-area location was expected to open by the end of the year. Aspen Dental is planning to open next door to the fast food joint.<\/p>\n<p>                        <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAQAAAADCAQAAAAe\/WZNAAAAEElEQVR42mM8U88ABowYDABAxQPltt5zqAAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==\" alt=\"Empty spot for Tractor Supply\" class=\"img-responsive lazyload full default\" width=\"1919\" height=\"1080\" data- data-\/><\/p>\n<p>The future site of Tractor Supply and an unnamed grocery anchor store are slated for the Foxbank Town Center in Moncks Corner.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                                    Megan Fernandes\/Staff<\/p>\n<p>        Tractor Supply<\/p>\n<p>A national retailer of farm and rural lifestyle supplies is eyeing a store at the Foxbank Town Center that is under development, according to developer Twin Rivers Capital.<\/p>\n<p>Tractor Supply carries farm supplies, pet and animal feed, clothing, tools, fencing and other rural essentials.<\/p>\n<p>The company has opened seven stores in the Charleston area since expanding to South Carolina in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>An unnamed national grocer, Auto Zone and Mavis Tire and Brakes are also slated for that development but have yet to be built.<\/p>\n<p>Bruster\u2019s Ice Cream<\/p>\n<p>A new ice cream shop is coming to the Foxbank Town Center, according to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loopnet.com\/Listing\/US-HWY-52-Moncks-Corner-SC\/3892116\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">leasing documents posted online<\/a> by Twin Rivers Capital.<\/p>\n<p>It is the first of five spaces in a new commercial strip built by the developer to be leased.<\/p>\n<p>                        <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAQAAAADCAQAAAAe\/WZNAAAAEElEQVR42mM8U88ABowYDABAxQPltt5zqAAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==\" alt=\"Subway's site\" class=\"img-responsive lazyload full default\" width=\"1919\" height=\"1080\" data- data-\/><\/p>\n<p>Subway is coming to Foxbank Town Center.<\/p>\n<p>                                    Megan Fernandes\/Staff<\/p>\n<p>        Subway<\/p>\n<p>A new Subway restaurant is coming to the Foxbank neighborhood Shops in Moncks Corner.<\/p>\n<p>The sandwich chain will occupy the space formerly leased by Essentials, at 117 Foxbank Plantation Blvd., according to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TwinRiversCapital\/posts\/subway-is-coming-to-foxbank-neighborhood-shops-in-moncks-corner-sc-nicki-jassy-a\/1654974056114737\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Twin Rivers Capital<\/a>. With the addition of Subway, only one retail space remains available in the center.<\/p>\n<p>An opening date has not yet been announced.<\/p>\n<p>Giacobbe\u2019s Pizzeria &amp; Trattoria<\/p>\n<p>A new Italian restaurant is undergoing renovations and will be located at 108 W. Railroad Ave., according to the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>More growth on the way<\/p>\n<p>Westbrook, the town\u2019s community development director, said national and regional retailers are increasingly viewing Moncks Corner as a solid bet after years of residential growth. He said the right commercial mix balances the need for \u201crooftops, retail and restaurants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, Westbrook said the town hopes to \u201cfill in the edges of the map\u201d between what many consider Old Moncks Corner and Foxbank, particularly along Highway 52. The Moss Grove and Weathers Tract developments, which include both housing and commercial areas, are also expected to grow in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>The town is planning to hire a new business development director to attract the next wave to the town.
