\nGerman Federal Police have recovered a detached wind turbine blade section
\nthat was drifting between the operational Hohe
\nSee<\/a>
\noffshore wind farm and the He
\nDreiht<\/a>
\nproject in the German North Sea. <\/p>\n

Authorities were notified on 24 July 2026 after attempts by offshore work
\nvessels to recover the blade were unsuccessful. A police patrol vessel
\nwas deployed in coordination with Germany\u2019s Waterways and Shipping Administration
\nto secure the area and redirect passing vessel traffic.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The approximately 20-metre blade section was drifting just below the surface,
\nmaking it difficult to detect and presenting a potential hazard to navigation.
\nIt was towed to the police vessel, cut into sections and brought aboard
\nbefore being offloaded by crane in Cuxhaven on 27 July 2026.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The blade has been reported as having detached from a turbine at He Dreiht.
\nHowever, the cause of the incident remains unclear, and EnBW and Vestas
\nhad not publicly confirmed further details when the recovery was reported.<\/p>\n

\nThe 960MW He Dreiht project will comprise 64 Vestas V236-15.0MW turbines
\nand is located approximately 85km northwest of Borkum.
