A woman has died at an Aldi<\/a> supermarket after collapsing in front of other customers.<\/p>\n Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to the store in Worcester shortly after 3.15pm on Thursday.<\/p>\n The woman, aged in her 70s, was found in a critical condition before medics began attempts to revive her.<\/p>\n A defibrillator was also fetched from the Toby Carvery nearby but she was declared dead at the scene.<\/p>\n Police have said the woman\u2019s death is not being treated as suspicious and nobody else was involved.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tSign up for all of the latest stories\t\t\t<\/p>\n Start your day informed with Metro’s News Updates<\/a> newsletter or get Breaking News<\/a> alerts the moment it happens. <\/p>\n A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: \u2018We received a call around 3.15pm yesterday afternoon (3 September) with concern for the welfare of a woman in Aldi on Bath Road in Worcester.<\/p>\n \u2018Officers arrived, and despite the best efforts by emergency services, a woman in her 70s was sadly declared dead at the scene.\u2019<\/p>\n West Midlands<\/a> Ambulance Service said: \u2018We were called to a medical incident at an address on Bath Road in Worcester and sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance to the scene.<\/p>\n \u2018On arrival, a woman was found in a critical condition.<\/p>\n \u2018Sadly, despite best efforts from crews, nothing could be done to save her, and she was confirmed dead at the scene.\u2019<\/p>\n Aldi said it was \u2018saddened\u2019 by the incident but hailed colleagues for responding \u2018immediately\u2019 in distressing circumstances.<\/p>\n A spokesperson said: \u2018We are deeply saddened by this incident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the customer at this incredibly difficult time.<\/p>\n \u2018Our colleagues responded immediately to the situation, and we are incredibly proud of our team for their swift actions in such distressing circumstances.<\/p>\n \u2018We are offering support to the colleagues affected.\u2019<\/p>\n Arrow Arrow Arrow
