\t\t\t\tIf you plan on finally getting that cool F80 BMW M3<\/a> that you have dreamed about for a few years, then this is your sign to do so. After all, the car has aged nicely, not to mention that it is a great, tail-happy daily driver.\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

If you do not mind older examples that have close to six digits on their odometers, then you could land one for a little over $30,000. Average ones that are quite nice retail for between $40,000 and over $50,000, and low-mileage LCI (Life Cycle Impulse), which is Bimmer slang for facelift, tend to fetch upwards of $55,000 and sometime more than $65,000. Collector-grade cars in mint condition and special edition models can retail for $65,000-$80,000+ in today\u2019s used car market in the United States of America.<\/p>\n

And this brings us to the 2018 model year BMW M3<\/a> that you can see in the photo gallery above. This car has 5,902 miles (9,498 km) under its belt, the vendor says. It features an orange paint finish with multiple glossy black touches on the outside, sports tinted windows, and benefits from a full paint protection film. It also sits closer to the ground, and features wheel spacers, the ad reveals.<\/p>\n

It has a black leather interior with white stitching, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and packs plenty of carbon fiber, as well as the usual M touches expected from such a thing. The central armrest and other parts of the cockpit were also wrapped in Alcantara, the seatbelts sport the M colors on them, and the M3 logo decorates the seatbacks. The seat bolster shows some wear on it, but keep in mind that this is a nine-year-old car.<\/p>\n

The firepower<\/a> is supplied by a familiar 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged straight-six engine, which was available with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The pictured car has the latter unit. The output is probably 425 bhp (431 ps\/317 kW), and the output likely stands at 406 pound-feet (550 Nm) of torque. That is, unless someone had the engine upgraded, which we doubt, given that the output and thrust haven\u2019t been mentioned in the listing shared at the bottom of the page.<\/p>\n

With no outside intervention, the F80 BMW M3 needed 4.1 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 kph), and it had a 155 mph (250 kph) electronically limited top speed. The version equipped with three pedals and a stick shift was two-tenths of a second slower.<\/p>\n

So, what else should you know about this machine? That the dealer offers financing, accepts trade-ins, and offers shipping nationwide. Well, this and the asking price, though you\u2019d better take a seat for this one, because it truly is out of this world. At the time of writing, the selling dealer @seraj.garage on Instagram, was asking $97,995 for this F80 BMW M3<\/a>. Needless to say that the price has sparked a lot of controversy in the comments area, with some users asking whether the car has $40K-$50K on the passenger\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s a very good question, because I do not see why anyone would pay that ridiculous amount of money for a nine-year old BMW M3, even if it is a very low-mileage version that looks almost perfect, save for the side bolster mentioned above, when these things cost a lot less in today\u2019s used car market, as mentioned above. But hey, greed knows no boundaries, and it will be very interesting to see if the vendor actually gets anywhere close to the asking price, though since it\u2019s a social media post, we will probably never find out.<\/p>\n

Before calling it a story, we will remind you that the F80-generation BMW M3<\/a> was put together between 2014 and 2018, and it was the last one to be offered strictly with pure rear-wheel drive, because its successor, the current G80, also has a rear-biased all-wheel drive option. BMW offered several cool versions of this model, including the M3 Pure, M3 CS, M3 30-Jahre Edition, M3 Velocity Edition, and so on.<\/p>\n

As you already know, this car shared its nuts and bolts not only with the regular 3 Series from the F30 generation, but also the 4 Series, and its range-topping flavor, the M4, which was offered in two body styles: coupe and convertible. The M4 from this generation was made from 2014 to 2020, and packed the same recipe beneath the slightly different-looking skin. By the way, the F80 was the model that retired the iconic E9X, which was the only M3 to feature a V8 engine straight from the factory.<\/p>\n

Now, back to the pictured 2018 BMW M3<\/a>, would you really be willing to pay almost $100K for it? Probably not, but if you said yes, then you should get in touch with the selling dealer and make a counteroffer. After all, what\u2019s the worst thing that could happen? Them saying no?<\/p>\n
