I have been trying to sell off most of my Hot Wheels collection for several weeks now. Sometimes I won\u2019t get a single message for days. Then, three or four people will almost start fighting over certain items. One thing\u2019s certain: posting photos of the entire transport case wasn\u2019t effective.<\/p>\n

Once I switched to pictures of individual models or up to two cars per shot, everything was a lot smoother. I don\u2019t feel upset about letting them go, as I\u2019ve made sure to hold on to the ones I like the most.<\/p>\n

Also, there\u2019s a constant influx of new collectibles to look for, and it\u2019s just not feasible to keep accumulating for years in a row. Take for instance, Mattel\u2019s special Hot Wheels Collector Edition<\/a> models. I just recently showed you two of them that came out of the vault for a limited time: the \u201967 Off Road Camaro and the \u201993 Nissan Hardbody (D21).<\/p>\n

These are older items, but we also have some clues about what\u2019s coming up in 2027. I\u2019ve already discussed the new variations of the BMW<\/a> M3 GTR and the \u201869 Chevrolet Corvette. And now we know what the ZAMAC release will be like: it\u2019s the second iteration of Charlie Angulo\u2019s 2023 Nissan Z GT4.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s right, we\u2019ve only seen one of these before, back in 2024 for the Car Culture: Race Day set. It was definitely overshadowed by the Rexy\/Roxy duo, as everyone was almost desperate to find at least one of those two. I certainly think this casting deserves more attention, and I imagine a Calsonic-inspired livery might just do the trick.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll definitely have to wait a little while longer for that to happen though, so let\u2019s just focus on what\u2019s already available out there: the latest car in the Collector Edition series is up for grabs if you can find a Target store nearby. The \u201878 Porsche 935-78 is by far one of my favorite Hot Wheels<\/a> item this year, and getting it from eBay is my only hope.<\/p>\n

I still regret letting go of my 2017 Car Culture: Race Day variation all those years ago. And Mattel hasn\u2019t paid too much attention to Jun Imai\u2019s casting this decade. This is the third variation since the 2019 Silhouettes release, and we all know the NFT<\/a> version is unobtainable for most of us.<\/p>\n

The diecast manufacturer typically releases four store-exclusive recolors of certain castings to \u201chelp\u201d you get the $20 receipts needed for the mail-in process. This time, the team in El Segundo has been even more \u201cgenerous\u201d than that, as you can look forward to twelve different cars available in Target stores.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve only seen photos of eight of them on Mattel\u2019s official page<\/a>, but that should make the hunt even more exciting if you haven\u2019t already seen all of them on eBay.
