And while we’ve already seen a few aftermarket takes on it, none of them had anything to do with the real thing. That’s because they were all renderings. And guess what? So are the images shared above in the gallery, though at least these came from Waido Kits on Instagram.

According to the company, this bundle is called the BMW X5 M Widebody Kit, and despite the “M” in its name, it clearly isn’t aimed at the full-blown X5 M. That’s because the range-topping version of the series is still in the making, and it is expected to arrive around 2028 with ICE power, perhaps assisted by electricity, as word on the street is that it might feature the same V8 powertrain as the latest M5. A fully electric variant is also in the making, and will probably be called the iX5 M.

Waido Kits says that “the “early pre-order will be available soon,” adding that “the car (X5) has been ordered, so there will be almost no waiting after the first cars release and you get yours.” This means that what you see here is what you will get if you decide to opt for this body kit, which makes the entire thing look a lot sportier and much more aggressive to the point where some might even confuse it with the upcoming BMW X5 M. Still, real petrolheads will immediately know that they are looking at a tuned X5 and not the M version.

Photo: Instagram | waido.kits

Care to mention the add-ons? Well, the most significant ones are the fender flares, which contribute to the premium mid-size crossover’s muscular stance. They are joined by new side skirts, and at the front, we can see a few extras on the sides of the bumper, as well as the mandatory splitter attached to it. Further back, this CGI-infused 2027 BMW X5 features a ducktail spoiler element on the tailgate, some add-ons in the bumper, and a new diffuser with an X-shaped extra light in the middle.

From what we can tell by looking at the digital illustrations that the quoted tuner released on its social media channels not long ago, this new-generation BMW X5 appears to sit a bit closer to the ground. This inevitably tells us that the suspension has been altered, though Waido Kits hasn’t mentioned anything about this aspect. And it also hasn’t mentioned the wheels, which feature an intricate design, have plenty of concavity, and are clearly larger than the factory ones.

We expect the body kit add-ons to be crafted from carbon fiber, and it is likely that they will be available in different looks, including perhaps a dry carbon one. The rendered SUV has a bi-tone look, combining gray with black. It also sports digitally-tinted windows because the interior hasn’t been altered at all, and the new wheels are presented in gray. Does this look suit the 2027 BMW X5? And better yet, would you order the body kit for your very own X5 if you decide to place an order for one?

Photo: Instagram | waido.kits

Before inviting you to scroll down to the comments area and speak your mind about it, we will remind you that the new-generation BMW X5 is underpinned by the familiar CLAR architecture, though it is an updated version of the old platform. In its previous form, it was the foundation stone of the G05 X5, aka the previous one, as well as the X7, X7, and XM, which remains a standalone M production. The M8, 8 Series, and G11 7 Series are also based on this construction, in case you forgot.

The new-generation BMW X5 is assembled at the Spartanburg factory in South Carolina, and the long wheelbase (LWB) version aimed at the People’s Republic comes to life at the Dadong facility in China. The regular model is 196.6 inches (4,994 mm) long, 78.7 inches (2,000 mm) wide, and 68.8 inches (1,748 mm) tall, and stretches from 119.5 inches (3,035 mm) to 124.6 inches (3,165 mm) between the axles from the standard version to the LWB one.

In the States, pricing starts at $71,250 for the entry-level X5 40. The AWD variant starts at $73,550, and for the PHEV 50e xDrive, you will have to prepare at least $78,950. The iX5 60 AWD has an MSRP of $81,250. The 2027 BMW X5 40 xDrive is the first one to touch down, as the first units will arrive at dealers this October, followed by the RWD, the 50e, and the iX5 early next year (2027).

9 photos Photo: Instagram | waido.kits There are several new kids on the BMW block, and the…

[20955
33154,6213,29070,10073,23499,61813,23285
post-86158","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-bmw","tag-2027-bmw-x5","tag-bmw","tag-bmw-x5","tag-suv","tag-tuning","tag-widebody","tag-x5
["GET
