United States-based medical technology company TransMedics has entered into a definitive agreement to invest in Germany-based private aviation operator PAD Aviation<\/a> (PVD, Paderborn\/Lippstadt<\/a>), supporting the creation of a dedicated organ transplant air-and-ground logistics network across Europe.<\/p>\n

\u201cBuilding a dedicated transplant air logistics network in Europe is a necessary first step to support our European strategy and deliver the full benefits of our organ care system (OCS) technology and integrated logistics model to patients in need of transplantation,\u201d said Waleed Hassanein, managing director, president, and chief executive of TransMedics.<\/p>\n

The investment is expected to close later in 2026. Further details, including the financial terms, remain undisclosed.<\/p>\n

PAD Aviation operates a fleet composed exclusively of Embraer Executive Jets<\/a>, namely five Phenom 300<\/a>s, two Phenom 300E<\/a>s, one of them delivered factory-new in mid-2025, and a Legacy 500<\/a> that has been parked at M\u00f6nchengladbach<\/a> since December 14. <\/p>\n

In late 2025, the company transferred<\/a> a Phenom 300 to subsidiary Sylt Air<\/a>, acquired earlier that year<\/a>. The aircraft has been parked at M\u00f6nchengladbach since January 20. Sylt Air further operates a Citation Jet 2+<\/a>, active five times since October 2023 and parked at M\u00f6nchengladbach since March 29, 2026.<\/p>\n

Beyond private jet charter services, PAD Aviation runs a fixed-base operation (FBO) at Westerland<\/a> through Sylt Air.<\/p>\n

TransMedics’ investment in PAD Aviation follows the mid-2023 acquisition of United States Part 135-certified operator Summit Aviation<\/a> (YEL, Bozeman<\/a>). The company operates twenty-two company-owned Phenom 300Es, twenty-one of which were added following the TransMedics takeover.<\/p>\n
