{"id":87117,"date":"2026-09-08T10:59:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T10:59:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/87117\/"},"modified":"2026-09-08T10:59:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T10:59:14","slug":"nicaragua-accuses-germany-of-multiple-violations-of-law-in-gaza-genocide-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/87117\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicaragua accuses Germany of \u2018multiple violations\u2019 of law in Gaza genocide case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Nicaragua on Tuesday accused Germany of \u201cmultiple violations of international law\u201d at the United Nations top court, as it pressed its case that Berlin was complicit in what it described as genocide in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The Central American country has dragged Germany to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, accusing Berlin of breaching the 1948 UN Genocide Convention with its support, notably arms shipments, for Israel.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cNicaragua invokes Germany\u2019s responsibility in connection to multiple violations of international law, particularly in respect of the odious scourge of genocide and international humanitarian law,\u201d ambassador Carlos Jose Arguello Gomez told the court.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Gomez said Nicaragua\u2019s claims \u201cinvolve the most serious breaches of obligations arising under \u2026 general international law\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Carlos Jose Arguello Gomez, representative for Nicaragua, listens during public hearings at the International Court of Justice on Monday.
