Discount supermarket chain Aldi is set to open a new UK store each week throughout this month, adding four locations and creating up to 120 jobs.<\/p>\n
The expansion follows the recent launch of the retailer\u2019s Balsall Common store near Solihull.<\/p>\n

Further openings scheduled for this month are in Essex, Hoxton, Rayleigh, Shropshire and Telford.<\/p>\n According to the company, each of those stores is expected to provide up to 30 jobs.<\/p>\n The new stores are part of Aldi\u2019s \u00a3370m ($511.78m) store expansion plan for 2026<\/a>, which was set out in January as part of wider plans to increase its presence in the UK.<\/p>\n The retailer said the funds would support 40 new store openings over the course of the year.<\/p>\n That \u00a3370m programme sits within a wider \u00a31.6bn investment strategy<\/a> spanning two years, announced last year, under which Aldi continues to work towards its 1,500-store target nationally.<\/p>\n Aldi UK national real estate managing director Jonathan Neale said:\u00a0\u201cWe know there are still communities across the country that want access to an Aldi store, and we are working hard to bring our unbeatable value to more of them.<\/p>\n \u201cOpening a new store every week throughout September demonstrates the pace of our expansion while creating new jobs and bringing high-quality, affordable food to even more shoppers.\u201d<\/p>\n
