CARLSBAD, Calif. — College golf’s longest day marches on at the 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship.
The quarterfinals are in the books, and it’s time for the semifinals for the four remaining teams at Omni La Costa. No. 1 Auburn will face Oklahoma State in a matchup of the past two champions while Arizona and UCLA will battle on the other side of the bracket in a matchup of two teams who won their first matches at NCAAs ever Tuesday morning.

The Tigers go up 2-0 after Josiah Gilbert’s 4-and-3 win. Auburn leads in the final three matches, too. This one is close to being over.
UCLA advances to championship match
The Bruins will play for a national championship. UCLA beats Arizona 3-1 and awaits the winner between Auburn and Oklahoma State.
UCLA’s Tyler Loree wins his match, 3 and 2, and the Bruins are a point away from advancing to the championship match for the first time.
UCLA’s Josh Kim wins his match 1 up, and Auburn’s Logan Reilly wins his match 7 and 5, and both teams lead 1-0 and have leads in multiple matches, too. Oklahoma State and Arizona have plenty of work to do to make up ground.
Auburn leads early on Oklahoma State
The 2024 champs have an early advantage against the defending ones, with Auburn leading in the first three matches. In the marquee match, Jackson Koivun leads Preston Stout 1 up. It was a 3-up lead thru 4 for Koivun, but Stout has fought back.
The first group has made the turn in UCLA/Arizona, and the Bruins lead in three matches thus far. Both teams had come-from-behind victories in the morning, so this match is just getting started.

Arizona and UCLA, the former Pac-12 foes, are off in the first semifinal match. TV coverage begins at 6 p.m. EDT on Golf Channel.
College golf’s two best players to face off
An incredible matchup is coming Tuesday afternoon between No. 1 Jackson Koivun of Auburn and No. 2 Preston Stout from Oklahoma State. Koivun won the Haskins Award on Tuesday, the Heisman Trophy of college golf. Meanwhile, Stout won the NCAA individual title on Monday and finished runner-up in the Haskins voting. It’s an extremely rare circumstance of college golf’s best facing off, and a trip to the national championship is on the line. Auburn and OSU have won the last two NCAA men’s golf titles.

Finals play for both the men’s and women’s championships consist of three days of stroke play on Friday thru Sunday (54 holes), after which the top-15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team will be determined. That is followed by a final day of 18 holes of stroke play (Monday) to determine the top eight teams that will advance to match play as well as the 72-hole individual champion. The team national champion will be determined by a match-play format that will consist of quarterfinals and semifinals conducted on Tuesday, followed by the finals on Wednesday.
