Scottie Scheffler has a chance to make golf history with a victory at the Memorial Tournament this week.
Golf’s elite will head to Muirfield Village Golf Club this week for the seventh Signature Event of the PGA Tour season, with Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and others looking to gain momentum ahead of the U.S. Open in two weeks.
Before the tournament, Jack Nicklaus made a bold statement about the Memorial – ‘Better than the Masters.’
As is the case with any event Scheffler chooses to play in, the world No. 1 is the clear betting favorite to win the Memorial and record his first victory since January, when he triumphed at The American Express.

Not only is Scheffler the +310 favorite to come out on top at Muirfield, but if he does, he will become the first golfer since 2011 to win a PGA Tour event three times in a row after winning the Memorial in both 2024 and 2025.
The last player to win the same PGA Tour event three years in a row was Steve Stricker, who took home the John Deere Classic title in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
Scottie’s track record at Muirfield, which includes two victories, two solo third-place finishes, a T22, and a missed cut, is an imposing reality for the rest of the field this week.

While Scheffler has been in the mix in most every tournament he’s played this year, the 29-year-old hasn’t quite been able to get over the hump. This week serves as a great opportunity to add a 21st PGA Tour victory to his resume.
McIlroy will take the course for the first time since the PGA Championship and is +1200 to win, the second-best odds behind Scheffler. The back-to-back Masters champ has never finished better than solo fifth in 13 career outings at Muirfield.
Ludvig Aberg (+1500) is alone in third on the odds board, followed by Cameron Young and Xander Schauffele, each priced at +1800.
Neither Aberg nor Schauffele has won yet this year despite consistently being rated among the favorites, while Young is looking to add a third trophy already in 2026.

Last week’s Charles Schwab Challenge winner, Russell Henley, comes in at +2000 to make it back-to-back PGA Tour wins, while Matt Fitzpatrick, a three-time winner this year, and Si Woo Kim are each +2200.
Longer shots include Tommy Fleetwood (+2700), Ben Griffin (+3300), Patrick Cantlay (+3300), and JJ Spaun (+3500).
