On May 21, Troon, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based golf and hospitality company, was selected to manage the Wohali Golf Club in Coalville by EB5AN, a foreign investor group that bought out Wohali during bankruptcy proceedings in May. 

Troon and their private club division, Troon Privé, will oversee all course operations including course management, membership sales and marketing. Troon is working with 900 golf and hospitality facilities in 45 states and 40 countries including Wohali, according to Troon Vice President of Operations Justin Lake. 

The Wohali course, called the “Eagle” course, has an elevation of 6,500 feet. It plays 7,566 yards from its back tees. The course is a little short of 30 miles from downtown Park City. 

Starting June 20 and for this summer only, Troon is opening up the club to 150 non-Wohali residents. After this season, the club will return to being a private one, with the Wohali homeowners being members. 

“We are excited to introduce the 2026 Golf Discovery Membership,” Lake said. “A unique opportunity for individuals to experience Wohali during the 2026 season.”

Lake said the course maintenance team has been working tirelessly to get the course ready for June 20. The ownership changes haven’t made the process easy, with tee boxes, fairways and greens all needing some attention. 

“The course was last open in fall 2025 and was limited to members only,” Lake said. “The ownership change restricted our ability to fully prepare between the close of the 2025 season and the opening of the 2026 season, which delayed reopening preparations until our planned June 20 opening.”

Lake said the maintenance team has been doing a remarkable job in spite of the challenges. He is excited for golfers to experience what he describes as a fun, challenging and engaging course. 

“The golf course is spectacular and rivals the best courses in the market today,” Lake said. “Its competitive advantage lies in the combination of member-friendly playability combined with dramatic elevation changes and bunkering. The result is a fun, engaging experience that golfers love to play daily or regularly.”
