That. Just. Happened.

Fans may be quoting Will Ferrell’s “Talladega Nights” character Ricky Bobby next week, as the movie star will make an appearance at the Travelers Championship for Celebrity Pro-Am day on Wednesday.

Ferrell probably won’t respond if you call him by name though, because he’ll be there as Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, promoting his new Netflix comedy series “The Hawk.”

“The Travelers Championship is excited and looking forward to having Lonnie ‘The Hawk’ Hawkins at the tournament next Wednesday. Fans won’t want to miss The Hawk and see him interacting with the best players on the PGA Tour,” a spokesman for the Travelers told The Courant.

Ferrell plays a washed-up former golfer who was the best in the game in 2004, but who is struggling to recapture the magic late in his career.

‘The Hawk’ won’t be playing in the Pro-Am, but will be interacting with fans.

Ferrell has made appearances in Connecticut in the past, such as when he stopped by the Milford Diner in character as Ron Burgundy from “Anchorman.”

The Travelers Championship is set for June 25-28, with the Pro-Am on Wednesday, June 24.
