One of the most iconic faces in Hollywood is set to visit the Travelers Championship in Connecticut next week for the Celebrity Pro-Am.

Comedic actor Will Ferrell will make an appearance at the PGA Tour event to promote his upcoming golf-themed television series, “The Hawk,” the Travelers Championship confirmed to CT Insider. Ferrell will be in attendance on Wednesday, the day before the first round of the Hartford-area tournament, from around 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“The Travelers Championship is excited and looking forward to having Lonnie ‘The Hawk’ Hawkins at the tournament next Wednesday,” the Travelers Championship said in a statement to CT Insider. “Fans won’t want to miss The Hawk and see him interacting with the best players on the PGA Tour.”

Born and raised in California, Ferrell rose to national prominence on “Saturday Night Live” and has starred in an impressive catalog of hit films, including “Elf” (2003), “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” (2004) and “Step Brothers” (2008). He has won multiple Emmys and received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor during a career spanning more than three decades.

At 58, Ferrell remains one of Hollywood’s most recognizable figures, playing a memorable role in “Barbie” (2023) before starring in and producing the 2024 Netflix documentary “Will & Harper.”

Ferrell is partnering with Netflix for “The Hawk,” portraying Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, a washed-up former world No. 1 golfer attempting an improbable comeback two decades after his peak. The 10-episode comedy series is set to be released July 16 on Netflix, and also stars Chris Parnell and Luke Wilson, among others.

Ferrell won’t be the only recognizable face in attendance in Cromwell next week. On Tuesday, Carson Daly will host the Travelers Championship 15½ Challenge, a skills competition where participants have 15 minutes, 30 seconds to land a shot onto the floating umbrella green on the 15th hole. Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will be competing.

On Wednesday, Jenna Bush Hager, the daughter of former President George W. Bush and TODAY co-host with Daly, will co-host the tournament’s Signature Women’s Day.
