As far as sporting traditions go, they don’t run much deeper than golf’s U.S. Open. And with the 126th U.S. Open coming to NBC and Peacock this weekend, that tradition will grow even deeper… most likely in thrilling fashion.

For this edition of the U.S. Open, a tradition that dates back to 1895, the greatest golfers in the world will be bringing their A-games to Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. This is the sixth time the venerable course will host the tournament, including the first time in 1896, insuring that it will be the first course to host a U.S. Open across three distinct centuries.

From Thursday, June 18 through Sunday, June 21, NBC Sports will be bringing you all the intense action and beautiful ambiance from one of sports’ most enduring events, featuring 156 of the top golfers in the world, including World No. 1, Scottie Scheffler, seeking to complete the career Grand Slam (winning all four majors) with a win. Here’s everything you need to know about how to tune into the the 126th U.S. Open on NBC and Peacock

Besides Scheffler seeking a career Grand Slam, you’ve also got World No. 9 J.J. Spaun looking to defend last year’s incredible U.S. Open win, where he sealed the deal at Oakmont with an unforgettable 64-foot birdie putt. Then there’s World No. 2 Rory McIlroy looking for his seventh overall major, which would make him the European with the most overall career majors. Or how about Brooks Koepka, returning to Shinnecock with hopes of winning a second U.S. Open after his victory there in 2018?

Beyond that, there’s plenty of other contenders for this year’s title, including Cameron Young (World No. 3), Matt Fitzpatrick (No. 4), Russell Henley (No. 5), Tommy Fleetwood (No 6.), Justin Rose (No. 7), Jon Rahm (No. 8), Bryson DeChambeau, and Collin Morikawa (No. 10) headlining the field.
