The Travelers Championship is on to the weekend.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, seeking his first win since January, is the leader by two after posting a blistering 10-under 60 Friday at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. He’ll look to extend that lead Saturday while others in contention, like Viktor Hovland and Akshay Bhatia, look to chase him down.

Is there a cut at the Travelers Championship?
No. The Travelers Championship is the last of five signature events on the PGA Tour’s 2026 schedule that do not feature a 36-hole cut. All 72 players in the field get to compete through the weekend.
Scottie Scheffler nearly recorded his second career 59
Scheffler recorded 11 birdies in Friday’s round of 60. He leads by two over Viktor Hovland, who claims he had ‘awesome stuff’ during his round of 61. There was also a 62 on Friday, which was posted by Akshay Bhatia.
Of the 72 golfers in the field, 61 are in red numbers and 64 are at even par or better. For those math-deficient, that means there are just eight golfers over par through 36 holes.
What’s the prize money at the 2026 Travelers Championship?
There is a $20 million in the prize fund and $3.6 million is being set aside for the winner.

TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, is a Robert J. Ross/Maurice Kearney design. It was most recently was renovated by Bobby Weed after many architects made changes over the past century. Founded as Middletown Golf Club in 1928, it became Edgewood Country Club in 1934. The PGA Tour took over the property in the 1980s, and Pete Dye redesigned a layout that reopened in 1982 as TPC of Connecticut. The golf course will play 6,844 yards (short by most PGA Tour venue standards) and will be a par 70.
