The annual Window World Golf Classic, now in its 30th year, is set to host the community for a golf outing, all looking to support Ursuline Sisters Mission and Beatitude House.
The outing is scheduled for Monday, June 29, at The Lake Club, located at 1140 Paulin Road.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. In addition to golf, the outing will feature food trucks, DJ Jim Loboy, a dinner and tournament prizes.
According to a news release, the outing began in the mid-1990s, when Joe and Linda Vivacqua organized a golf outing inspired by Ursuline Sister Margaret Sheetz, the founder of Beatitude House.
Beatitude House is a ministry of the Ursuline Sisters Mission. Since the 1990s, it has been a supportive resource to anyone experiencing homelessness in the Valley. Through their programming, Beatitude House offers permanent supportive housing, transitional housing and a food pantry.
Ursuline Sisters Mission, according to its website, is a gospel service that is continued by the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown and their ministries throughout the region.
Since Linda’s involvement in the outing, her brother, Pat Moran, and her father, Fred Moran, have continued to help the outing grow with the help of a partnership with Window World of Youngstown.
“Thirty years ago, my brother-in-law Joe Vivaqua and my sister Linda Vivaqua started what has become an incredible golf outing… I’m proud to say it has grown into one of the Valley’s premier outings, raising over $100,000 annually in recent years for Ursuline Sisters Mission. We are truly blessed to live in a community like this – one where people come together and give so generously,” said Pat Moran, the owner of Window World of Youngstown.
Sister Patricia McNicholas, the Director of Donor Relations, says that the partnership has been beneficial to the families assisted by Beatitude House.
“Their kindness and commitment have made a meaningful difference throughout the Valley, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with them year after year and look forward to continuing our partnership in the future.”
