The Genesis Scottish Open marks the first event in the Closing Swing, the fifth and final Global Swing on the DP World Tour’s 2025/26 Race to Dubai schedule.

A week later the focus will be on Royal Birkdale for The Open, rounding off the men’s Major Championship season.

But, the focus from July 9 to July 12 is firmly on Scotland’s Golf Coast in East Lothian, and world No 1, Scottie Scheffler and Major champions including Rory McIlroy, who is second in the world rankings, will be at The Renaissance Club, North Berwick.

This year marks the 44th edition of the event, one of the founding events on the DP World Tour, formerly known as the European Tour.

Tickets are on sale at etg.golf/GSOTickets and prices start at £40. The championship event starts on Thursday but there is a Pro-Am on the Wednesday

Global golf stars will tee it up at the Renaissance Club and other top names scheduled to make the trip include world No 4, Matt Fitzpatrick, and England’s Justin Rose.

The holder is American golfer, Chris Gotterup, and 36-year-old McIlroy, a five-time Major winner, said: “Winning in 2023 created some great memories and I’m excited to be back.”

The Northern Irishman won the title thanks to a birdie-birdie finish to edge out Scotland’s No 1, Robert MacIntyre by a shot, and he said: “The Scottish fans have always been very supportive of me.”
