Shortly after, Robinson and Stembridge visited Fore Seasons Indoor Golf in Tauranga, which owns and supplies golf simulator technology, for advice.
Now the idea was a reality after opening on July 2, Robinson said he was excited to provide another entertainment option.
“We’re excited to bring something different to Whanganui. We wanted to create a welcoming space that’s accessible to everyone … and give the community a new way to get together, have fun and try something new.”

Unlike traditional golf venues, The Fairway Lounge was designed to be enjoyed in all weather conditions to improve golf’s accessibility, Robinson said.
He said golf was strong and popular in Whanganui but weather could limit golfers’ ability to play.
Groups of up to four people can play a 55-minute session, with access to world-famous courses, practice facilities and interactive games.
People can bring their own clubs or hire them at the facility at 340 Victoria Ave.
Robinson encouraged people to book sessions online, with walk-ins dependent on bay availability.
Membership options are available, including a limited-time founding membership offer.
Members receive unrestricted access through secure entry and discounted bay hire during staffed hours.
A second venue in Palmerston North was in the works, Robinson said.
