Many of the game’s biggest stars have headed overseas for 2 weeks of links golf, beginning with the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club. It’s a star-studded field with marquee players from the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Golf, an appetizer before next week’s 154th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

Below, we look at Genesis Scottish Open odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions before the first round begins Thursday in North Berwick, Scotland.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the favorite to win at The Renaissance Club this week, coming in with pre-tournament odds of +500. Rory McIlroy (+950), Jon Rahm (+1400) and Matt Fitzpatrick (+2000) are also among the top contenders, as is defending champion Chris Gotterup (+2800), who just won the John Deere Classic Sunday.

The Renaissance Club is hosting this event for the eighth time, which is a newer course that just opened in 2007. It’s a par 70 and 7,282 yards long, but isn’t a traditional links-style course. It features more undulation than typical links courses, and there are also trees on the property because it was built on what was once a forest.

Tyrrell Hatton (+3300)

Hatton has played extremely well in majors over the last 2 years, and though this week isn’t a major championship, it features a field similar to the one we’ll see next week. He’s finished 16th or better in 5 of his last 7 majors and has a strong track record at The Renaissance Club, coming in 18th, 24th and sixth in his last 3 starts here. He’s coming off a T-7 at Shinnecock in the U.S. Open, too, so his form is great.

Chris Gotterup (+2800)

Gotterup is trying to go back-to-back in 2 different ways: Wins in consecutive weeks, and wins at the same tournament in consecutive years. The John Deere Classic champion last week surged up the board with a final-round 62 to win by 1 shot, and he’s now looking to defend his title at the Genesis Scottish Open after winning here last year at 15-under-par. He’s building a strong links-golf resume, with last year’s win and a solo third at the 2025 Open Championship.

Robert MacIntyre (+3300)

MacIntyre had been struggling badly since his T-2 at the Valero Texas Open, going 6 straight starts either missing the cut or finishing 42nd or worse. Then he found something at the RBC Canadian Open, finishing T-15 before coming in 39th at the U.S. Open and 10th at the Travelers Championship. His approach play was strong at the Travelers, which yields some confidence heading into this week.

Genesis Scottish Open picks – ContendersKristoffer Reitan (+5000)

Reitan made his tournament debut here last year and promptly finished 13th, gaining strokes everywhere except on the greens. He was excellent from tee to green, which is how you succeed on links courses. He’s had some good finishes as of late, including a T-6 at the Memorial Tournament and T-22 at the Travelers Championship.

Marco Penge (+6000)

Penge is making his first start since stepping away to focus on his health after dealing with a viral infection and vertigo symptoms in May. He’s a bomber off the tee, which is useful at this course; he used it to his advantage last year when he finished second.

Adam Scott (+6600)

Scott has been on a downward trend lately, missing the cut at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open, but he was playing great from February to May. He was the runner-up here in 2024 and finished 17th last year, so The Renaissance Club evokes positive memories for the Australian.

Tom Kim (+6600)

Kim is surprisingly good on links courses, perhaps because he’s such a strong ball striker and not always great on the greens. He tied for second at the 2023 Open Championship and has finished 17th or better in each of his last 4 Scottish Open starts, including a third-place finish in 2022. His form has gotten better, too, tying for third at the U.S. Open.

Genesis Scottish Open picks – Long shotsAlex Noren (+10000)

Noren isn’t in the best form right now but he finished 30th at this event in his debut in 2022 and came in 10th in 2024. In his last 2 Open Championship starts, he’s finished T-23 and T-13, showing his prowess for playing well on links courses.

Brian Harman (+10000)

Harman is a former Open Championship winner and has had success at this event with finishes of 12th and 21st in 2023 and 2024. His game is trending up after tying for 32nd at the U.S. Open and 25th at the Travelers Championship, as well.
