Plans for a new golf clubhouse at a hotel and country club have been approved.
The application from M&D Development Limited to add a single storey extension to the existing Lodge Café at All Saints Hotel and Country Club, in The Street, Fornham St Genevieve, was granted permission yesterday.
The Lodge Café and Lounge sit behind the main hotel buildings and overlook the hotel’s The Suffolk Golf Club.

The application said, as part of the continued investment into the resort, the 18-hole course is undergoing an ‘exciting program of renovation and remodelling’ to enhance its playing experience.
It said the applicants identified a need for the golf club to have its own clubhouse facility and identity within the wider resort while continuing to make use of facilities at the Lodge Café.
Planners said the site was a ‘well-established facility’ within Fornham St Genevieve and the proposals represented a ‘modest and proportionate enhancement’ to this.
The extension would measure around 13 metres by nine metres.
Planners said, given its location within the site, the extension ‘would not appear visually intrusive’ in the wider countryside.
