Major championship season has ended following the thrilling finish at Sunday’s Open Championship, where Ryan Fox shocked the world and took home the Claret Jug with a birdie on the 72nd hole. Now, the PGA Tour heads back to the states for the 2026 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn. Below, we look at 3M Open odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions before the first round begins Thursday.

While it’s by no means a strong field, there are some big names teeing it up this week, including World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. He’s +275 to win, with this being the first time he’s playing the 3M Open. Defending champion Kurt Kitayama (+2500), Hideki Matsuyama (+2800) and Maverick McNealy (+2800) are also among the top contenders.

TPC Twin Cities is a par 71 and 7,431 yards long, featuring a mix of scorable holes, as well as some challenging par 3s. The greens are large and relatively flat, which leads to some low scores and a lot of made putts. That’s particularly helpful for those who are struggling with their putters, making ball-striking a more consequential trait this week. The winning score has been between 15 and 24-under par each year since the tournament’s inception in 2019. Kitayam won at 23-under last year.

Tom Kim (+3500)

A course where ball-striking is paramount and putting takes a backseat? Sounds like Tom Kim time. Among players in the field, Kim ranks fourth in strokes gained: tee-to-green over the last 3 months, and second only to Scheffler in the last 3 days. He’s actually losing strokes on the greens in the last 3 months ,but that should be mitigated at Twin Cities.

Hideki Matsuyama (+2800)

Matsuyama had been struggling with his game a bit before finishing 14th at both the Travelers Championship and Open Championship, dialing in his play from tee-to-green, and with the putter. He didn’t lose strokes in any one area, showing a well-rounded game heading into the 3M Open, where he tied for seventh in 2019 and 30th in 2023.

Kitayama is the defending champion, who comes in with some red-hot ball-striking. He’s second in the field in SG: tee-to-green over the last 3 months, behind only Scheffler. His finishes of 44th and 40th in Scotland and England the last 2 weeks are nothing to worry about because they were on links courses, but he had been hot with top-25s in 6 of his previous 7 starts. Plus, he finished sixth at this event in 2024 before winning last year.

3M Open picks – ContendersMichael Brennan (+6000)

Brennan is another player who’s hitting the ball well right now but struggling on and around the greens. He’s 12th among players in the field from tee to green in the last 3 months, so we’re betting on that carrying him somewhat this week and hoping the putter works itself out on some flatter greens that are easier to navigate.

Emiliano Grillo (+6000)

Grillo hasn’t been particularly impressive in any one area lately, ranking about Tour average in most strokes gained categories since April. What he does have is a terrific track record at this event, making the cut in 5 of 6 tries with top-25 finishes in all 5 starts where he made the cut; he tied for third in 2020 and second in 2022.

Jackson Suber (+5000)

Suber played surprisingly well in his first Open Championship last week, finishing T-28 after fading a bit Sunday with a 4-over 74. In his start prior, he tied for sixth at the John Deere Classic, which is a course much more similar to TPC Twin Cities than Royal Birkdale was. He missed the cut here last year, but ranks fifth in the field in SG: tee-to-green in the last 3 months.

3M Open picks – Long shotsLucas Glover (+10000)

Glover is dialed in off the tee with above-average accuracy, hitting the ball beautifully in recent months. He’s 10th among players in the field from tee to green in the last 3 months, but 123rd in putting. At a course where ball-striking is more important, let’s ride Glover and his back-to-back top-5 finishes in the last 2 weeks.

Zach Bauchou (+12500)

Only 6 players teeing it up this week have gained more strokes from tee to green than Bauchou in the last 3 months, but he’s losing strokes on the greens. As long as he can keep hitting the irons the way he has been, he should have some birdie looks.
