• I am ticked off at a popular Irish PGA Tour golf professional who spoke very unprofessionally in an interview regarding an American player’s recent rule violation on the course. Your extremely rude comment that you don’t like him very much just shows the world your true colors.

• I like children and I don’t mind when they are noisy. What ticks me off is when parents take them out to a nice restaurant and never even try to tell the children to bring the noise down from earth-shattering to blood-curdling. I don’t think that is asking too much. If you don’t know how to parent in public, please stay home so you don’t embarrass yourself.

• I am ticked off that if 60% of my fellow Floridians vote to cut property taxes, I will have to learn to fill potholes in front of my home, dig out the drainage ditch and spend my nights on neighborhood watch!

The flip side

• I have to say thank you to Duke Energy. There was a storm Friday afternoon and it got very dark. Then the lightning looked like it went right through my house. I lost my power. Duke called and left a message that they were aware of the problem. They were very good about staying in touch with us. The families on our street who were affected would like to say thank you for getting our service restored so promptly! It reminds me to get ready for the storms that might come this way. Thank you again, Duke Energy!
