What a major it was. Now the PGA Tour returns with a signature event.
Hot on the heels of the Masters, it’s time for the RBC Heritage in Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Rory McIlroy, who won his second consecutive green jacket last Sunday, was already planning to skip the RBC. When the field list came out last Friday, he was not included. Four players were added to the tee sheet on Sunday: Max Homa, Billy Horschel (sponsor exemption), Marco Penge (sponsor exemption) and Wyndham Clark (sponsor exemption). On Tuesday morning, Justin Rose WD’d, giving Michael Thorbjornsen a spot.
There are 82 players in the field, including defending champion Justin Thomas. Brooks Koepka is next on the alternate list. Should there be another withdrawal before the tournament starts on Thursday, he will play in his first signature event since returning to the PGA Tour.
