World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is in action this week at the 3M Open as the PGA Tour’s regular season is nearing its end. It’s the first time he’s playing at TPC Twin Cities as the field plays for the $8.8 million purse with the winner taking home $1.584 million.
Scheffler tied for fourth place last week at the British Open and is in Minnesota looking for, unbelievably, only his second victory of the season. Even so, he still leads the tour in strokes gained/total, even though the victories have not piled up.
Tom Kim is at the 3M Open, just two weeks of his victory at the Scottish Open. Kurt Kitayama is the defending champion and is hoping to become the first repeat champion in the event’s eight-year history. Jason Day, Brian Harman and Tony Finau are among the notables in the field.
After this week only the Rocket Classic and Wyndham Championship remain in the regular season so time is dwindling for those looking to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Check back here Sunday after play is complete for updates.
