RBC Heritage preparations underway
Signature PGA Tour event tees off at Harbour Town next week
As the Masters gets underway in Augusta, we are now just one week away from round one of the RBC Heritage at the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island.
And this year’s tournament features perhaps its strongest field yet.
It is just about that time of year again at the Harbour Town Golf Links as fans and golfers are ready to get their plaid on for the 2026 RBC Heritage.
And work is continuing to get the venue and the course ready to welcome the masses next week.
“It’s amazing the efforts that are put forth in advance of even next year, we’re already working on,” said Steve Wilmot, tournament director, RBC Heritage. “It’s a year-round effort by the team and the community to pull off something that we’re very proud of.”
And once again, this year, the RBC Heritage will be a Signature event on the PGA Tour, which means a limited field featuring some of the world’s very best golfers.
Among those already committed are 2025 champion Justin Thomas and the top golfer in the world, Scottie Scheffler, who won the 2024 tournament.
“It’s going to be a stronger field than we had last year,” Wilmot said. “And from top to bottom by far, which is great.”
And getting to this point for the Heritage is pretty amazing, considering the tournament was in danger of extinction in 2011.
“We were at the 12th hour in 2011, and actually, during the broadcast really it happened,” Wilmot said. “In it, it was the players and the media sell on the tournament when things really snowballed. And that’s when RBC and– and thanks to Boeing as well to jump on board there.”
And in just a few days, Harbour Town will be even busier. It will be crawling with people as the RBC Heritage officially gets underway.
It will start with the iconic opening ceremony that will take place Tuesday at noon on the 18th green at Harbour Town.
