The 2025 PDGA Presidents Cup is nearly here, and it’s bringing international bragging rights back to the forefront of professional disc golf competition. Set against the sunny fairways of Swenson Park in Stockton, California, this year’s clash lands on U.S. soil for just the second time in history. As always, Team USA will face off against Team Europe in one of the sport’s most storied team competitions.
This one-day showdown kicks off the festivities ahead of the 2025 PDGA Champions Cup by OTB & MVP Disc Sports, the first PDGA Pro Major of the year, making it the perfect warm-up act for a week loaded with elite disc golf. With deep history (first held in 2006), intense rivalries, and powerhouse players on both sides, this isn’t just an exhibition—it’s a heavyweight throwdown with pride on the line.

“I am truly honored and excited to accept the role of Captain for Team USA. This is an incredible privilege as I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead and stand alongside some of the best players in the world. I believe in the strength and determination of every individual on this team. It’s my commitment to provide support and guidance, always striving to elevate each member of our team to play to their fullest potential. Together, we will push boundaries, inspire one another and represent the United States with pride at the 2025 President’s Cup!” — Avery Jenkins, Captain – Team USA

“This is a new situation for me. As the creator of the Presidents Cup, I have never thought about being a captain. When I was asked earlier to be a captain, I didn’t quite realize what that meant and now, after thinking, this is a really cool thing. Now I can share this moment with one of my best American friends as a fellow competitor, fellow father, fellow colleague. It feels too comfortable right now. I don’t feel the fierce competition — it’s more of a friendship and honor. That will certainly change as the tournament approaches but now, I just feel honored that we’re going to do something cool together. The original tagline of the Presidents Cup was ‘honor above all,’ so I think that has come full circle for me. I am honored to be there.” — Jussi Meresmaa, Captain – Team Europe
Presidents Cup Format

The competition plays out over two phases, and every shot counts.
Phase 1: Individual Best Shot
4 player groups, separated into three MPO groups and one FPO group
28 total points up for grabs based on individual scoring
Phase 2: Head-to-Head Match Play
Numbered matchups (1v1, 2v2, etc.)
3 points for a win, 1.5 each for a tie
Still tied after all that? Sudden death—Hole 18 on repeat. It’s drama-ready disc golf.
Course layout? Players will test their mettle on a specific loop of Swenson Park: Holes 1, 8–13, 17, and 18. It’s a tight, pressure-cooked layout perfect for high-stakes matchups.
