The 39th annual Friends of McHenry County College Foundation Golf Invitational raised more than $130,000 for student scholarships and programs in June at Bull Valley Golf Club in Woodstock. The foundation has budgeted the awarding of more than $1.2 million in scholarships in the coming fiscal year.

The outing included lunch, 18 holes of golf in a scramble format and a reception featuring prizes, auction items and an awards presentation. This year’s event featured 136 participants, including the winning foursome of Josh Bunjan, Ethan Carpenter, Nick Sabol and Brant Takmajian from Demonica Kemper Architects. They were awarded the Associated Electrical Contractor’s Champion’s Trophy at the reception to recognize their tournament win.

Other contest winners included Kate Staley and Sabol for longest drive, Dan Payson for closest to the pin, Paul Koszarek for straightest drive and Mary Miller and Kurt Smith for longest putt.

The Friends of the MCC Foundation invites the community to save the date for its 40th annual Golf Invitational, scheduled for June 14, 2027, at Crystal Lake Country Club. For more information on the event, call the Friends of MCC Foundation at 815-479-7803 or visit mchenry.edu/supportmcc/golf.
