The PGA TOUR is hosting the final Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club (par 70, 7,328 yards, bentgrass/POA annua greens). This Donald Ross-designed course has been the site of the Rocket Classic since it was added to the PGA TOUR schedule in 2019. Aldrich Potgieter (-22) won last year’s Rocket Classic in a three-man playoff. This week’s field consists of 144 golfers and there will be a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.

Below, I have featured a cut parlay to consider for the Rocket Classic.

  • Chris Kirk to make the cut (-134)
  • Davis Chatfield to make the cut (+110)
  • Kevin Streelman to make the cut (+134)

Chris Kirk to make the cut

Kirk is a true course horse at Detroit Golf Club. The veteran nearly won at this Ross course last year, losing in the three-man playoff to Potgieter. Kirk has never missed a cut in six starts at Detroit Golf Club and five of these finishes have been inside the top-25. Among this field, Kirk ranks 10th in strokes gained per round at Detroit Golf Club and 19th in strokes gained per round at all Ross designs. Kirk has been inconsistent this season, making just 9-of-17 cuts, but he is coming off some solid showings, finishing T61st at the Genesis Scottish Open and T31st at the 3M Open. Kirk ranked top-20 in SG APP at both events and him missing the cut at Detroit Golf Club in this form would be surprising.

Davis Chatfield to make the cut

After a rough start to his rookie season, Chatfield has found his rhythm. In his last four starts, Chatfield has finished T33rd, T5th, T34th and T16th. The key to his success has been his ball striking, as Chatfield has gained strokes on approach in each of these past four starts. When we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, the 27-year-old ranks 15th in SG APP, making him a strong match for Detroit Golf Club. Three of the last four winners at this track have finished the event top-six in SG APP. Chatfield has shot under par in 14-of-16 rounds during his current cut streak – including a pair of career-low 64s – and his strong play should continue this week, despite this being his Rocket Classic debut.

Kevin Streelman to make the cut

Streelman has never missed a cut in three starts at Detroit Golf Club and the veteran has been solid recently, making three of his past four cuts. At the 3M Open this past week, Streelman finished T24th, including a 4-under 67 in the first and last round. The 47-year-old gained 4.0 strokes on approach at TPC Twin Cities, which ranked 25th for the event and is his best ball striking outing since the Valspar Championship in 2024. Streelman has gained strokes on approach in three of his last four starts and he should make the cut this week with his ball striking trending up.
