Jackson Koivun’s win at the 3M Open last week was seriously impressive.
Koivun held off world number one Scottie Scheffler to win his first PGA Tour title in just his third start as a professional.
The 21-year-old is the real deal, there is absolutely no doubt about that.
Jackson Koivun has the whole package. He’s a solid driver of the ball, and is seemingly gaining more speed with every week that passes.
The youngster is a very good iron player and an exceptional putter – already one of the very best on the PGA Tour.

He also has a supremely strong mindset, and he proved that when Scottie Scheffler was chasing him down on the back nine at TPC Twin Cities.
However, in spite of his brilliance at the 3M Open last week, we might just have learned even more about him this week at the Rocket Classic.
Jackson Koivun shows why he’s destined to be a superstar at the Rocket Classic
Keegan Bradley raved about Koivun as a golfer and a person after playing alongside him during the first two rounds at the Rocket Classic.
And Bradley isn’t the first PGA Tour player to have been blown away by the 21-year-old.
MORE ROCKET CLASSIC STORIES
Jack Nicklaus, Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffle have all spoken very highly indeed of Koivun over the past few weeks.
And while he proved that he’s ready to win last week in Minnesota, he has shown a completely different attribute this week in Detroit.

After shooting an opening-round 69 at the Rocket Classic on Thursday, Koivun was outside the cut-line when he teed off for his second on Friday.
However, Koivun posted a brilliant opening-nine score of 31 to haul himself into contention.
He then shot a 36 on the back-nine to card a 67 and make the cut by one stroke.
Making cuts on the PGA Tour is a really difficult thing to do
Making the weekend on the PGA Tour is never an easy task. In fact, certain players have suggested that the pressure of making cuts is even more intense than when they’re in the mix to win tournaments.
“I’ll always argue the pressure of making a cut can feel like more pressure than trying to win a tournament,“ Justin Thomas recently said.
“It’s a completely different feeling, but it’s real!!!“
And make no mistake about it, Jackson Koivun would have been feeling the heat on his back nine at the Rocket Classic on Friday.
However, the 21-year-old passed the test with flying colors.
Koivun showed everyone that he has the hunger and fight needed to battle it out and make cuts when he hasn’t quite got his best stuff.
And moving forward, that mentality and courageous attitude will be just as important as the mettle he shows when he is in contention to win.
