Semi comes to rest on 15th Green of Schifferdecker Golf Course after crash
JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM/KJFX) — About 5:45 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2026, reports of a crash on West 7th alongside the Schifferdecker Golf Course alerted E-911.
Joplin Fire, Joplin Police and METS ambulance responded.
On scene we learn it was nearly a head on crash on West 7th. An eastbound tractor-trailer swerved to miss a westbound passenger car.
The tractor-trailer continued off the north side of the roadway and broke through the cable barrier fencing coming to rest on the fairway of the 15th hole of the Schifferdecker Golf Course. No golfers were injured.

The passenger car remained on West 7th St, heavily damaged.
SGT Tom Bowin tells us there were three people in the passenger car, one was transported to an area hospital non-emergency with non-life threatening injuries.

Rosenberg Towing and Recovery removed the passenger car and debris.
The tractor-trailer was able to make some adjustments and continue on its own power.
