A record crowd of junior golfers competed at Summerville Country Club July 10 during the annual Roy/Mark Meyers Junior Open.
A total of 60 golfers showed up for the tournament, marking the largest field yet for the summertime tradition. The competition was stiff as many divisions came down to a single stroke and one was settled in a tiebreaker.
Rising Summerville junior Luke Jacks fired a round of 77 to win the tournament Open Championship. Weston Raila came in at 78 to place second.
Rising Ashley Ridge senior Annabel Carman carded an 81 to win the Ladies Championship.

Eric Colrud, Kevin Thompson, Joe Waring and Tate Chambers won the annual Firecracker Open Tournament July 4th weekend.

Aces and other achievements
Mike Windham aced Hole 13 at Summerville Country Club on July 17. He used his 6 iron to drive the ball 135 yards. The event was witnessed by Brooks Moore, Art Rooney and Phil Richardson. Windham also shot a 69, five strokes under his age, July 5.
