United States President Donald Trump made headlines during the final round of LIV Golf New York on Sunday.

The tournament was played at the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, less than an hour’s drive from New York City.

Trump has supported LIV Golf since its inception in 2021, with the league staging at least one event each season at a course he owns.

The president attended the latest tournament with nine-time major champion Gary Player and former LIV Golf chief Yasir Al-Rumayyan.

Donald Trump attended the final round of LIV Golf New York on Sunday, as Joaquin Niemann (-16) won the individual event.

As it was the final event of the 2026 season, Jon Rahm walked away with the season-long Individual Title despite finishing outside the top 40 in New York.

However, many golf fans were more intrigued by Trump’s appearance alongside Gary Player and Yasir Al-Rumayyan in a now-deleted video shared by Flushing It.

However, Al-Rumayyan’s visit was particularly noteworthy, as he recently stepped down as LIV Golf chairman and withdrew all financial backing from the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.

LIV Golf has been scrambling to find another lead investor for the 2027 season, with many expecting the league to fold over the winter.

CEO Scott O’Neil announced last week that the league has a plan in place, but no one will be convinced until the news is confirmed.
