Heading to the BMW Championship? Here’s what you need to know

TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. (First Alert 4) – St. Louis will be at the center of the golf world when Bellerive Country Club hosts the BMW Championship from August 18-23.

The BMW Championship is the second-to-last leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings will participate. Unlike a regular PGA Tour event, there is no cut after the second round and the field is smaller. The top 30 players will then advance to the Tour Championship in Atlanta the following week.

Bellerive last hosted a PGA event in 2018, when it hosted the PGA Championship. It previously hosted the BMW Championship in 2008.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Sunday, August 16 is Opening Drive, which does not require a ticket. Fans can purchase merchandise, see celebrities make an appearance and see a junior golf clinic. Parking is at 121 St. Luke’s Center Drive (St. Luke’s Outpatient Center), where shuttles will then take patrons to the course. For more, click here.No public access to the course on MondayTuesday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 19 will be practice round days, gates will open at 7:30 a.m. There is also the Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am on Wednesday.Thursday through Sunday will be the four tournament rounds. Gates will open at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

PARKING INFO

There is no parking on the Bellerive grounds. Parking for the practice and tournament rounds is at the Family Arena in St. Charles, shuttles will take fans from there to the course. Parking for Opening Drive is at 121 St. Luke’s Center Drive. Uber, Lyft and the rideshare drop-off area will be at the Whitfield School (175 S. Mason Road), which is across the street from Bellerieve.

STREET CLOSURES

A section of Ladue Road will have restricted access from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. during tournament week: No through traffic will be permitted on Ladue Road between Highway 141 and I-270. No through traffic will be allowed on Masion Road between Conway Road and Hibler Road. Chaselle Lane and Laduemont Drive will also be closed to through traffic.Residents in the affected areas will only be permitted access Ladue Road from the east and should have received a parking hangtag, Creve Coeur police say.
