TaylorMade has released the Hi-Toe 5 wedges, the first fully forged version of the popular high-toe design, featuring five sole grinds and improved spin technology. Available now for pre-order at $199.99.

TaylorMade has officially released the Hi-Toe 5 wedges, marking the first time the popular high-toe design has been fully forged from soft carbon steel.

The new model joins the Milled Grind 5 as part of TaylorMade’s expanded Forged Wedge Family. The shift from cast to forged construction is designed to deliver softer feel, more consistent feedback, and tighter manufacturing tolerances while retaining the signature high-toe shape that creates a larger face profile and higher center of gravity for a lower, more controlled ball flight.

Key performance features include full-face saw-milled grooves and laser-etched Spin Tread channels. TaylorMade says the combination improves spin retention, particularly in wet conditions, with testing showing roughly 13 percent better spin performance compared to the previous generation.

Five Sole Grinds

The Hi-Toe 5 is offered in five distinct sole grinds to fit different swing types and turf conditions:

ATS: Four-way cambered sole, the most versatile all-purpose option (50-60 degrees).

ATV, ATX, and ATW: Additional options covering mid- to high-bounce needs.

ATC: Low-bounce, narrow-sole grind for firmer conditions and shallow attack angles (available through custom or the MyHi-Toe program only).

Price and Availability

Stock Hi-Toe 5 wedges retail for $199.99 and come with either a KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 steel shaft or UST Recoil DART graphite shaft, paired with a SuperStroke Crossline 2.0 grip. Custom MyHi-Toe 5 builds start at $249.99.

The wedges are available for pre-order now at TaylorMadeGolf.com and will hit retail stores on Sept. 3.

The Hi-Toe line has long been known for its forgiveness and versatility from a variety of lies. The move to a forged head brings the feel closer to TaylorMade’s tour-preferred MG5 while keeping the larger, confidence-inspiring shape that many recreational and better players prefer around the greens.
