Nate Grochowski shot even-par 33 to earn medalist honors, leading Dunmore over Mid Valley, 147-156, on the opening day of the Lackawanna League golf season Friday at Scott Greens Golf Club.
Grochowski and Anthony Yerka, who shot 38, each had a birdie on No. 5, as did Carter Sload for the Bucks.
Aaron Merrifield shot 37 and had two birdies (1, 2) to lead Mid Valley. Ian Scanlon added a birdie (1) for the Spartans.

Abington Heights 151, Valley View 186: At Elkview Country Club, Conor O’Malley-Kalinowski shot an even-par 36 with nine straight pars to lead the Comets past the Cougars.
Logan Gallagher (1), Luca Burgio (2), Cole Severs (7) and Sebastian Meyer (1) had birdies for the Comets.

Scranton Prep 142, Honesdale 157: The defending PIAA Class 2A champs started the season strong with a win over the Hornets at Honesdale Golf Club.
Cole Powell, the defending PIAA Class 2A individual champ, shot a 4-under-par 31 with four birdies and an eagle.
Brendan Bell had three birdies, Bobby Stott, Matthew Haggerty and Brian James added birdies for the Cavaliers.
Trevan Dahlgren shot 37 and carded a birdie to lead the Hornets. Maddox Johnson also added a birdie.
Scranton Prep — Cole Powell 31, Brendan Bell 34, Bobby Stott 37, Matthew Haggerty 40; Honesdale — Trevor Dahlgren 37, Woody Reynolds 39, Reed Howell 40, Connor Tierney 41.
North Pocono 171, Scranton 182: At Pine Hills, Braylon Radick had a birdie (4) and shot 40 to earn medalist honors and lead the Trojans over the Knights.
Carter Hagnebaugh and Luke Goul each eagled No. 8 for North Pocono.
Jack Kerrigan had a birdie (8) for Scranton.

Lakeland 137, Old Forge 168: Ty Sokoloski had a birdie (2) and chipped in for eagle on No. 9 to earn medalist honors with a 3-over-par 36 in leading the Chiefs to the win at Scott Greens.
Mike Pisarcik (2), Brenan Pantzar (3) and Carson Stephens (9) had birdies for Lakeland.
Joey Revello led Old Forge by shooting 38.

Jack Moran led Carbondale Area with a 48.

Girls
Abington Heights’ Brianna Moffat shot 5-over-par 77 to capture the Class 3A girls championship and lead the Lady Comets to the team title at the Happy Valley Invitational on Thursday at the Penn State White Course in State College.
Moffat was one shot better than Fox Chapel’s Clara Koteski and Pine Richland’s Siena Smith, who tied for second place. Also for Abington Heights, Margot Grad finished 10th with an 84, Liz George was 18th with an 87.
The Lady Comets edged Fox Chapel by three strokes for the team championship, and were five shots better than third-place Pine Richland.
North Pocono’s Julia Bilko finished seventh with a 10-over 82.
Elk Lake’s Hannah LaRue was the top local finisher in Class 2A girls, finishing 20th with a 92 as the Lady Warriors finished sixth.
Abington Heights 127, Elk Lake 153: At Glen Oak CC, Brianna Moffat shot 3-over 39 with a pair of birdies (1, 7) to lead the Lady Comets on Friday.
Nami Patton led Elk Lake with a 48.
