The roster for the 2026 United States Walker Cup team is set.
Following the conclusion of the 126th U.S. Amateur on Sunday, the U.S. Golf Association’s International Team Selection working group and captain Nathan Smith announced the final selections to represent the American team in the 51st Walker Cup at Lahinch in Ireland from Sept. 5-6. Four players were previously announced, with the last six players earning their spot on the team after the U.S. Amateur
The Walker Cup is a 10-man amateur team competition between the U.S. and Great Britain and Ireland. Lahinch is hosting its first Walker Cup competition. The U.S. leads the all-time series 40-9-1 and will be going for its sixth straight win in the competition.
The Americans will have a much younger roster than they fielded a year ago at Cypress Point, with GB&I slated to have an age and experience advantage at Lahinch.

Stout, the world’s No. 1 amateur, is one of three returning U.S. players. He won the NCAA individual championship in June but missed the cut at the U.S. Amateur this week.
Tyler Watts
Watts will be one of two teenagers on the team. This week, he made a run to the Round of 16 at the U.S. Amateur and became the youngest winner in Northeast Amateur history earlier this summer.
Miles Russell
The 17-year-old phenom nearly made the team last year but finally gets his shot this time. He finished runner-up at the U.S. Junior and made match play at this week’s U.S. Amateur before falling in the Round of 64 to one of his now teammates.
Ethan Fang
Fang, who won the British Amateur last year, is another returning player, along with his Oklahoma State teammate Stout. Fang missed the cut at this week’s U.S. Amateur.
William Jennings
Jennings, ranked fifth in the world, fell to semifinalist Carter Loflin in the Round of 16. The rising junior at Alabama finished runner-up at the NCAA Championship in June.
Ryder Cowan
Cowan is making his first Ryder Cup appearance coming off a stellar summer. He knocked of Russell in the Round of 64 at Merion and also tied for low amateur honors at the U.S. Open.
Josiah Gilbert
Gilbert, ranked seventh in the world, made the quarterfinals at the Western Amateur and match play at Merion. The rising senior at Auburn has also won two team national titles with the Tigers.
Jay Leng Jr.
Leng played his way on the team with a stellar finish to the summer. He won the Western Amateur and then made a run at Merion, winning the Havemeyer Trophy/finishing runner up to punch his ticket to Lahinch.
Stewart Hagestad
The 35-year-old mid-amateur will make his sixth straight Walker Cup appearance. He’s a stellar 8-1 in singles during Walker Cup play, and at Cypress Point he clinched the retaining point on the par-3 15th.
Kihei Akina
The 2026 Phil Mickelson Award winner for freshman of the year had an incredible season at BYU and put together a strong summer to earn the last spot on the Walker Cup team.
Alternates
Max Herendeen and Logan Reilly are the first and second alternates, respectively.
