It wasn’t easy, but make it three wins in as many Region 11 outings for Ridgeline’s boys golf team to start the 2026 season.

Low scores were hard to come by Monday at Skyway Golf Course in Tremonton as only Ridgeline’s Dallin Anderson and Beckham Skinner went under par. Anderson was the medalist with an impressive 5-under-par round of 67, while Skinner, the medalist at the two previous region outings, finished at 1 under.

The reigning 4A state champion Riverhawks limited their point tally to 300, while Green Canyon was second with a score of 318, followed by Sky View (323), host Bear River (331), Mountain Crest (337), Stansbury (340), Tooele (360) and Deseret Peak (369). The Wolves and Bobcats have finished second and third, respectively, in all three region meets.

“Well, I thought we were really playing bad until I saw how tough the course was on everybody,” Ridgeline head coach Sam Lindley said. “I thought we would have had two or three more scores in the 70s, but it was not to be on a tough course today. Pins were in tough places because of Skyway’s club championship they had there yesterday. Fast greens today with wind on the back 9 made it play hard. Dallin and Beckham were really the only two to figure it out.”

Anderson and Skinner were joined in the top 10 by fellow teammates Porter Thomson and Porter Allen. Thomson tied for seventh place with an 80, while Allen was one of a few golfers who shot a 82, which tied for 10th.

Green Canyon had five athletes in the top 10, led by Wyatt Lagerholm and Jace Spackman, who tied for the No. 4 spot on the leaderboard with 6-over-par rounds of 78. Bronx Aguirre tied for seventh place with a 80 for the Wolves, who got rounds of 82 from Gavin Spackman and Seth Anderson.

Sky View’s Elliott Feser placed third with a 4-over 76, while teammate Austin Bauer carded a 79 and was six. Korver Clark and Ryland Sorensen both carded rounds of 84 to lead Mountain Crest.

LOGAN CONTINUES SOLID SEASON

The Grizzlies were also in action Monday as they traveled to Mt. Ogden Golf Course and tied Ogden for second place in the five-team Region 12 outing. Morgan was dominant with a round of 290, followed by Logan and Ogden with 325s, Ben Lomond (350) and Grantsville (354). Layton Christian also competes in the region, but doesn’t have enough golfers to record a team score.

This was the third region tournament for Logan, which finished all alone in second behind Morgan in the other two. The first tourney took place Aug. 4 at Crane Field Golf Course in Clinton, and the second at Tooele’s Oquirrh Hills Golf Course on Aug. 11.

“A solid test for our team today at Mt Ogden,” LHS head coach Henry Metcalf said. “This isn’t a course we get to play very often and Mt Ogden is definitely a course that benefits those with experience on it. … We battled it out as a team for another second-place finish to keep a solid distance between us and third. Looking forward to Round Valley next week to keep up the improvement. We’re trending in the right direction.”

Morgan’s Caleb Rees was the medalist Monday with a 3-under 68. The reigning 3A state champion Trojans had the top three placers.

Logan’s Braden Anderson and Ethan Woolley were among four athletes who tied for fourth with rounds of 77.

Anderson paced the Grizzlies with a 3-under 75 at Oquirrh Hills. Daxton Adams finished second on the team with a 78, while Sawyer Britton was third with a 80.

Adams fired an even par round of 72 at Crane Field, while Anderson also impressed with his 1-over 73. Morgan had three golfers shoot in the 60s at Oquirrh Hills and Crane Field.
