The 2026 LIV Golf season comes to a conclusion with the finale in Indianapolis, as the league returns to The Club at Chatham Hills for a second consecutive year.
Rankings in the season-long Individual Championship will be finalised; Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm has wrapped up his third consecutive Individual Championship, but the other two bonus-paying positions on the podium are at stake.
The 2026 Team Champions will be determined through the all-scores-count format across the four stroke-play rounds, with each of the 13 teams eligible to win the title; the top-scoring team will be crowned champions.
Sebastián Muñoz is the defending LIV Golf Indianapolis individual champion after beating Rahm in a playoff, and his Torque GC team also won the team title last season. Muñoz opened the tournament last year by shooting a 12-under 59 that included a league-record 14 birdies in a single round.
Torque Captain Joaquin Niemann is the most recent LIV Golf winner, having won his second tournament of the year – and record ninth of his LIV Golf career – in New York.
Niemann joined Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Lucas Herbert as multiple tournament winners in 2026, and also becomes the only player to have multiple wins in each of the last three LIV Golf seasons (2024-26).
LIV Golf
The last three individual winners have each produced wire-to-wire wins (Tyrrell Hatton in Andalucía; Herbert in the United Kingdom and Niemann in New York). DeChambeau’s Crushers GC became the all-time winningest LIV Golf team, winning their 11th regular-season tournament title in New York.
The Crushers joined 4Aces GC and Ripper GC as three-time team winners this season; the only other team to win a tournament title in 2026 is Legion XIII with two.
What’s at stake?
INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT TITLE
Like all other regular season tournaments, the player with the lowest score over the four rounds will win the individual tournament trophy.
Torque GC Captain Joaquin Niemann is the league’s most recent tournament winner, having claimed LIV Golf New York two weeks ago at Trump National Bedminster. That victory increased Niemann’s league-record total to nine career individual wins – four more than any other player.
Niemann is one of four players this season to win multiple tournament titles, having previously won in Korea. Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm won in Hong Kong and Mexico City; Crushers GC Captain Bryson DeChambeau won back-to-back tournaments in Singapore and South Africa, both via playoff; and Ripper GC’s Lucas Herbert won in Virginia and the United Kingdom.
The 2026 season started with Herbert’s new teammate Elvis Smylie winning in his LIV Golf debut in Riyadh, followed by Anthony Kim’s breakthrough LIV Golf win in Adelaide in a week in which he made his first start for 4Aces GC. Legion XIII’s Tyrrell Hatton is the other winner this season, having captured his second career LIV Golf title in Andalucía.
Niemann’s Torque teammate Sebastián Muñoz is the defending LIV Golf Indianapolis champion, having won his first LIV Golf title a year ago by beating Rahm in a playoff.
Muñoz opened with a 12-under 59 in which he recorded a record 14 birdies while also becoming the first player in major professional golf to break 60 despite carding a double bogey. Of the 57 players in the Indianapolis field, 22 have won at least one LIV Golf individual title while 19 others have at least one top-three podium finish.
INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP PODIUM
Jon Rahm will enter LIV Golf Indianapolis having already clinched his third consecutive Individual Championship. The Legion XIII captain, who has two wins and four runner-up finishes this season, is 218.34 points ahead of second-place Bryson DeChambeau. With an individual tournament win worth 200 points, DeChambeau could win this week and still would not move to No. 1, no matter where Rahm finishes on the final leaderboard.
However, the race for 2nd and/or 3rd place – the other two bonus-paying spots on the season-long podium – remains up for grabs among four players. Here are the key scenarios in play for each of those golfers:
● Bryson DeChambeau (currently 2nd place with 726.20 points). The Crushers GC captain is assured of finishing no lower than 3rd but could be passed by Niemann or Herbert for 2nd.
● Joaquin Niemann (currently 3rd place with 553.66 points). The Torque GC captain can move up to 2nd if he wins and DeChambeau finishes no higher than 8th. Otherwise, he will try to protect his 3rd place spot.
● Lucas Herbert (currently 4th place with 541.41 points). The Ripper GC star can move up to 2nd if he wins and DeChambeau finishes no higher than 14th. He also starts 12.25 points behind Niemann and has multiple scenarios to move up to 3rd as long as he finishes 19th or better.
● Tyrrell Hatton (currently 5th place with 453.23 points). The Legion XIII star can only move up to 3rd place with a win, provided that neither Niemann nor Herbert finish 2nd.
LIV Golf
TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER
The 2026 Team Championship will be awarded to the team with the lowest cumulative score over the four stroke-play rounds. That means each of LIV Golf’s 13 teams will begin the tournament with a chance to win the title.
From that perspective, it’s no different than previous seasons. The only difference in 2026 is that the league’s stroke-play format will carry over from the regular season instead of switching to match play for the first two rounds. Potentially more teams will enter the final round still with a chance than in previous seasons.
Legion XIII enters as the defending Team Champions. Their biggest challengers will likely be the clubs that have also won previous Team Championships – 4Aces GC (2022), Crushers GC (2023) and Ripper GC (2024).
Those four teams have combined to win all 11 tournaments leading up to Indy. Ripper won the first two tournaments in 2026 and has three total wins. 4Aces GC won the next two tournaments and now has three wins. Crushers GC won the most recent event in New York and has three wins. Legion XIII has won twice this season.
Although Torque GC has yet to win in 2026, no team has been more consistent through the first 11 tournaments, as the Latin American team has finished fifth or better nine times and comes off a tie for 2nd in New York.
Teams such as Southern Guards GC, OKGC, RangeGoats GC and Cleeks GC have veteran lineups that could ignite at any time, while potential Cinderella stories could emerge from HyFlyers GC, Korean Golf Club, Cleeks Golf Club and Majesticks Golf Club.
