A Forest golf club has raised over £4,000 for an organisation which provides sailing opportunities for disabled people.
Bramshaw Golf Club seniors’ section held a number of events throughout 2025 to benefit Testwood Lakes Sailability (TLS) based at 4th New Forest North (Eling) Sea Scouts headquarters in Totton.

The organisation spent many years fundraising for a wheelchair accessible pontoon at Testwood Lakes, which is fitted with hoists to safely transfer wheelchair-dependent sailors in and out of the boats.
It requires more than £5,000 per year to run, and receives some income from charging participants a small fee for a trip on one of its six dinghies.
TLS volunteers recently met with seniors captain, Steven Holmes, to accept a cheque for £4,038.90.
Since the organisation was launched in 2016 by disabled sailor Eric Blyth, it has carried out more than 7,225 sails.

A spokesperson said: “To maintain the service offered by Testwood Lakes Sailability we are always looking for new volunteers for jobs such as receptionists, admin support, fundraising, dinghy skippers and general shoreside help with customers.”
