It’s a rout through 54 holes at the BMW Championship.

Wyndham Clark is the leader by five shots as he seeks his third win of the season. The reigning U.S. Open champ made six birdies and an eagle en route to a 5-under 65 in Saturday’s third round and will head to Sunday with a commanding lead. But there are several big names still in the hunt, looking to chase down Clark. That group includes Rory McIlroy, who sits in a tie for second with Patrick Cantlay after three rounds.

And further down the board is a fight to get into the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings, as that’s the cutoff to advance to next week’s Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta, where there will be $40 million in prize money up for grabs.

See below for leaderboard updates, highlights and more from Saturday’s third round of the 2026 BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.

Wyndham Clark opened his third round with a double bogey and closed it with a bogey. But in the 16 holes between, he was absolutely dynamite, making six birdies and an eagle on his way to posting a 5-under 65 Saturday. The reigning U.S. Open champion will take a five-shot lead into the final round at Bellerive as he seeks his third win of the year.

Rory McIlroy fires 65 Saturday at the BMW

World No. 2 Rory McIlroy made six birdies to offset one bogey en route to a 5-under 65 in the third round at the BMW Championship. Five of those birdies came in his last eight holes. McIlroy sat in a tie for second when he walked off the 18th green Saturday, albeit six shots off the lead, but it’s an encouraging performance thus far for the reigning Masters champ, who struggled mightily last week at the FedEx St. Jude, finishing 66th out of 68 players.

Wyndham Clark rolls in another birdie

Wyndham Clark’s lead was briefly extended to seven shots with this birdie at the 14th, his fourth in the last five holes. But shortly after he rolled in this one in, both Rory McIlroy and Chris Gotterup made birdies to get the lead back down to six. Still, though, Clark is in full control as he comes down the stretch Saturday.

Wyndham Clark is dusting the field

We might be headed toward a second straight week with a runaway winner on the PGA Tour. With birdies on Nos. 10, 11 and 13, Wyndham Clark has extended his lead to six shots over a tie for second between Rory McIlroy and Chris Gotterup.

Rory McIlroy moves into tie for second

Back-to-back birdies at Nos. 15 and 16 have the reigning Masters champ into a tie for second at 11 under.

Wyndham Clark extends lead with another birdie

Wyndham Clark has fully caught fire Saturday at Bellerive after a rough start. He made birdies at Nos. 4 and 7 before making eagle at the 8th, then canned this birdie putt from long range at the 10th to get to 15 under. He’s now the leader by four.

Chris Gotterup moves to solo second

Chris Gotterup is bogey-free so far on Saturday and moved into solo second with a birdie at the 11th, his second of the day.

Ryo Hisatsune makes 127 feet of putts in two holes

There’s a hot putter, and then there’s whatever this is from Ryo Hisatsune. The young star from Japan could still use a few more of these, though, as he sits at No. 44 in the projected FedEx Cup standings, well outside the top 30 cutoff to advance to next week’s Tour Championship.

Wyndham Clark takes commanding lead with eagle at No. 8

Wyndham Clark held the solo lead after 36 holes but lost it immediately with a double bogey at No. 1 on Saturday. He has bounced back, though, making birdies at Nos. 4 and 7 before this impressive eagle at the 8th. He made the turn in 2-under 33 and is now 14 under for the tournament, three shots clear of the field.

Eric Cole drains wild birdie putt

He wasn’t going to leave this one short! Cole rammed home this birdie at the 13th then birdied the 14th as well to get to 8 under and into the top 10 on the leaderboard.

Wyndham Clark back in front

Wyndham Clark rolled in this 21-foot birdie putt at No. 4 to get back to 11 under, then Gary Woodland made bogey at the 5th to drop to 10 under. Clark has regained the solo lead Saturday at the BMW Championship.

Rory McIlroy makes birdie, gets within 3

Rory McIlroy poured in this birdie putt at the par-3 third to get to 8 under and within three of the lead.

Final pairing tees off, Wyndham Clark loses lead immediately

It only took one hole for Wyndham Clark to see his solo lead vanish, as he made double bogey at No. 1 while his playing partner, Gary Woodland, made par. Clark drops to 10 under, while Woodland remains at 11 under and holds the solo lead.

Scottie Scheffler climbing leaderboard

The world’s best player is sneaking up the leaderboard Saturday at the BMW. He bounced back from a bogey at the fourth with a birdie at No. 5, then posted back-to-back birdies at Nos. 8 and 9 to get to 5 under for the tournament and into the top 15.
