There’s a lot to monitor Sunday at the final round of the 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship.
First, the leaderboard, as the race to win the first PGA Tour playoff event of 2026 is at hand and the world’s best player is at the top. Further, there’s a fight to finish in the top 50, as only the top 50 out of this 68-man field (there were two WDs) will advance to the BMW next week.

Scottie Scheffler wins for 21st time in his PGA Tour career
Scheffler shot a final-round 66 and won the St. Jude in a rout. He enjoyed a walk in the park in Memphis on Sunday with the world No. 1 ended his victory drought in convincing fashion, shooting 4-under 66 at TPC Southwind and winning by eight strokes over Si Woo Kim and Alex Noren.
Scottie Scheffler makes short birdie to take 8-shot lead
Make it another birdie for Scheffler at No. 16, whose lead balloons to eight shots over Si Woo Kim, Sam Burns and Alex Noren. Scheffler is at 17 under, his closest pursuer are 9 under. Win No. 21 is right around the corner.
Scottie Scheffler drips one in for another birdie
Scheffler goes to 16 under and takes a seven-shot lead thorugh 13 holes after pouring in another birdie putt. His largest margin of victory is eight shots at the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
Scottie Scheffler birdies 11 to take six-shot lead
Scheffler drained a 20-footer to the delight of the crowd to get to 15 under and a full six shots up on Si Woo Kim. Victory No. 21 appears to be matter of time at this point.

Scheffler is even through five holes and sits at 13 under, four clear of Sungjae Im, who is 2 over after making bogey at No. 6. Scheffler’s playing partner Sam Burns is 3 over through 5 and five shots back.

A nice shot from the sand hit a sprinkler head, just missed going into the cup, doesn’t stop rolling and eventually goes into the drink:
A bogey 6 for Scheffler dropped him to 12 under (1 over on his round) and cut his lead over Sungjae Im to one. Sam Burns went into the water on the hole and he’s 2 over on his round. In other words, the final pairing is 3 over through three holes.
Tommy Fleetwood rolls one in from off the green Matt McCarty falls out of projected top 50 for BMW
McCarty came into the St. Jude in the 48th spot but scores of 73-72-71-71 left him tied for 64th out of 68 golfers and that dropped him to 51st in the standings, the first man out for next week.
“Just a frustrating four days. Today was a little better, I guess, I don’t know. But yeah, it sucks,” he said after his Sunday round. “Having the beginning of the week knowing that if I played well, I kind of controlled my own destiny. Now for that not to be the case kind of sucks. But it is what it is, and we’ll see.”

Asked after his third round Saturday about playing/competing against a good friend Sam Burns on Sunday, Scheffler said: “It’s always a little weird just because I want him to have success so much and I think he wants the same for me. Tomorrow we’ll go out there and play our game and see where things finish up at the end of the day. It will be a competition like normal. It will be fun being out there with your friend but it’s also a bit weird at the same time.” The tees off at 1:40 p.m. ET.

Weather forecast for the 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship
It has been extremely hot and humid all week in Memphis, and Sunday is going to be another absolute scorcher. The forecast calls for sunny skies and a near-record high temperature of 102 degrees, with a heat index well north of 110. And there won’t be much wind to speak of either, with a light breeze blowing from the southwest at 5-10 mph.
The private TPC Southwind in Memphis is a 7,288-yard course that plays as a par 70. It was designed by Ron Prichard. It has hosted the PGA Tour since 1989. It opened in 1988.
