The 29-year-old has actually enjoyed a really solid season on the PGA Tour in 2026, despite suffering from a persistent back problem.
And it seems like Collin Morikawa has Kevin Kisner and Tiger Woods to thank for his vastly improved putting.

Morikawa has been suffering with his back issue all season long, and his driving has been below his usual standards as a result.
However, the two-time major winner’s putting has drastically improved recently.

Morikawa is ranked second in strokes gained putting this week at the Tour Championship.
And he was asked what he has changed recently in that department.
“I’m telling you, I had a great talk at TGL with Tiger, Kis — I probably should give most of the credit to Kis. I don’t want to, but he deserves it — and Max. It just stuck with me. It was very simple,“ he replied.

“I parted ways with Stephen Sweeney earlier this year, and I felt like I got a lot of knowledge of what I need to do, but I just needed to find something that stuck week in and week out.
“I feel like I kind of found something. You just watch my warmup, it’s very, very simple, I’m not doing much, but I’m kind of incorporating things here and there that I’ve learned throughout the year.
“It’s very, very simple right now. I’m trusting my stroke. The putter feels great. It’s nice when you feel like you can start them on line and you’re seeing the lines. Hopefully I can continue that the next two.“
Collin Morikawa says what he must improve to win the Tour Championship
The two-time major champion was asked about the state of his game after his second round at East Lake on Friday.
“The putting feels great, which is good considering it’s different surfaces from last week to this week. That was kind of a big focus of mine,“ Morikawa replied.
“I just have to find a few more fairways. The cut’s not quite cutting, and it really hasn’t been off the tee as much.
“When you can play out of the fairways on this golf course, you can score, and you can have some good wedge shots where it kind of stops on a dime.
“So I just need to find that and tighten it up, and we’ll see how everything plays out.“
