The 2026 Tour Championship rolls on at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, where the PGA Tour’s top stars are battling for a $10 million prize and the title of FedEx Cup Champion.
Min Woo Lee entered the second day as the leader by two shots after firing an 8-under 62 on Thursday, but Round 2 ends with Viktor Hovland and Ryan Gerard tied for the lead.

Viktor Hovland birdies 18 to make it a two-way tie for the lead
Hovland poured in a birdie putt on the last hole to get to 10 under and into the final pairing for Saturday’s third round. The 2023 FedEx Cup champ will play with Ryan Gerard. Hovland’s 66-64â130 total equals Gerard’s 65-65â130.
Ryan Gerard posts second straight 65 to take the lead
Gerard was probably not on anyone’s board to win this week but he’s the first to double digits under par after a second consecutive 65 on Friday at East Lake. He opened with a bogey but was 6 under over the remaining 17 holes.
Scottie Scheffler birdies 18, pulls within one 1 shot
Scheffler rebounded from a bogey on 17 to birdie 18 and sign for 3-under 67. He’s got it to 8 under, tied with Cam Young for the clubhouse and a shot back of Ryan Gerard and Viktor Hovland, both still on the golf course.

Cameron Young eagles 18, goes from last to first
Young was tied for last after the first round but after rolling in a massive bomb on 18 for eagle, Young has vaulted into a tie for the lead. Playing solo after the Thursday WD of J.J. Spaun, Young even did a phantom handshake on the 18th green.
Young played in 3 hours, 16 minutes to shoot 62, the second 62 of the week after Min Woo Lee did it Thursday.
“Once you kind of get over the fact that they just announced one person on the 1st hole, it’s kind of more like a practice round. We play a lot of practice rounds just on my own. I felt like, especially with it going well, it was really easy to keep going,” Young said.

Young fired an even-par 70, one of only the golfers to not break par in the opening round but so far on Friday he’s getting it done as he’s 5 under through eight holes to get 5 under overall and into a tie for fifth.

What happened in the first round of the 2026 Tour Championship?
The news started early with J.J. Spaun withdrawing after five holes. Ryan Fox shot a morning 66. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler shot 65 and is a group of four golfers tied for fifth. Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa and Chris Gotterup are tied for second at 6 under and Lee leads at 8 under.
