Ally Suhre’s dominant start to the season continued Saturday for the Edwardsville girls golf team.

Suhre won her fourth straight tournament to open the season, shooting a 4-under 68 to win the Saints Shootout on Aug. 29 at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington.

Edwardsville completed the sweep by winning the team championship with a 316. Dunlap was second at 324 and Quincy Notre Dame was third at 332 in the 15-team field.

After opening the season with victories at the Madison County Tournament, Belleville West Invitational and QND Lady Raider Invitational, Suhre broke into the 60s for the third time this season. She won the Saints Shootout by one stroke over Dunlap’s Sydney Hunt, who finished at 3-under 69.

Starting on Hole No. 6, Suhre birdied the final four holes of the back nine to reach 3-under. She added a birdie on No. 3 to get to 4-under.

Suhre is the first Tiger to win the Saints Shootout since Rachel Johnson in 2024, when Edwardsville also won its most recent team championship at the tournament. Suhre joins Rachel Johnson, Nicole Johnson (2022) and Riley Lewis (2017) among Tigers to earn medalist honors at the event.

It was Suhre’s third round in the 60s this season. She carded a 6-under 66 at the Belleville West Invitational and a 2-under 69 at the Madison County Tournament. Only Nicole Johnson, with seven rounds in the 60s, and Rachel Johnson, with four, have accomplished the feat more times in program history.

Kylie Lintker was next for Edwardsville, shooting a 7-over 79 to finish seventh overall. She played the back nine in 2-over 38.

Emerson Gusewelle finished 10th with an 8-over 80, while Alexis Hunt rounded out the Tigers’ team scoring with a 17-over 87.

Edwardsville has won three tournament championships this season, including the Madison County Tournament and Belleville West Invitational.

The Tigers next turn their attention to the Southwestern Conference Tournament, with the first round scheduled for Sept. 1 at Far Oaks Golf Course.

Edwardsville’s last SWC championship came in 2016, when it shared the title with O’Fallon. The Panthers have won the last nine conference championships outright.
