Like a reported one of every three traveling golfers, I usually leave my clubs at home for short golf trips. That’s because many of those jaunts include only one or two rounds, and I find that the hassle of toting along a heavy golf travel bag pales in comparison to the convenience of just using rental clubs at my destination. And in this case, the fitter landed on what I believe will be the perfect irons to complement the rest of my bag. The tech behind the GEN8 0311P irons includes dual perimeter weighting that helps dial in shot-shape changes without altering lie or loft. This enhances forgiveness and control. An internal polymer maximizes energy transfer and dampens vibration – making shots feel soft and powerful, while soaring high and tight. They’re essentially game-improvement irons that look more like player’s irons – with minimal offset and a thin top line. The GEN8 line is also offered in a longer-blade 0311XP model that’s geared towards players who may have lost a little distance, and the 0311T tour-style club with some forgiveness built in.
