The American’s final-round 66 was enough to defeat 54-hole leader Viktor Hovland by three strokes at East Lake.
He was already the best golfer on the planet and he has now increased his lead at the top of the world rankings.
As he continues to break records every year, Scheffler has now overtaken Tiger Woods as the PGA Tour’s highest earner ever.

Scottie Scheffler earned $10 million of the record-breaking $40 million payout at last weekend’s Tour Championship.
Having recently surpassed Rory McIlroy on the all-time PGA Tour money list, Scheffler has now overtaken Tiger Woods.
The 30-year-old has earned $130,390,661 in his Tour career, which is just under $9.5 million more than Woods’ earnings.

If Scheffler continues to dominate for the foreseeable future, he could become the first player to reach $200 million.
However, it should be noted that PGA Tour prize money is significantly greater than when Woods was in his prime.
If the payouts had not increased so much recently, Woods would still be the all-time leader by a wide margin over McIlroy.
