COLUMBIA, S.C. (Aug. 31, 2026) – A pair of South Carolina women’s golfers were named to the Golf Channel Preseason All-American squads as announced by Golf Channel on Monday morning. Eila Galitsky was tabbed to the Second Team, while freshman Amelia Harris earned a spot on the Honorable Mention team as well as the Preseason First Team All-Freshman. In addition to the pair of preseason All-American honors, the Gamecocks were slated 10th in the Golf Channel Preseason Top 30 rankings.
Galitsky, a two-time consensus All-American, is coming off a sophomore campaign in which she appeared in 10 events with five top-10 results including a win at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. Currently ranked No. 11 in the most recent World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), Galitsky earned a spot on the All-SEC Second Team last season after leading the Gamecocks in scoring average at 71.76. Her season scoring average ranked 11th best in school history and second-best scoring average by a sophomore in Gamecock history. The Thailand native has appeared in 16 career events with 48 rounds of competition, averaging 71.44 strokes per round. She has nine career top-10 finishes and five of those have resulted in top-5 placements.
Harris, a current freshman from Melbourne, Australia, currently ranks No. 67 in the latest WAGR. A highly sought after golfer, Harris finished 17th at the 2026 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship after opening the tournament with a historic 63 (-9). She fired a back-nine score of 28 that featured eight birdies, including six consecutive birdies from holes No. 13-18. In the last two years she has competed in 36 WAGR sanctioned events and has amassed 23 top-10 finishes, including six wins and six runner-up results.
The Gamecocks are set to begin their season a week from today at the 2026 ANNIKA Intercollegiate that commences on Monday, Sept. 7. The three-day event will be played at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
